General Discussion
Seckel syndrome is an extremely uncommon inherited disorder defined by development delays prior to birth (intrauterine growth retardation) leading to low birth weight. Development delays keep after birth (postnatal), causing brief stature (dwarfism). Various other symptoms as well as physical attributes associated with Seckel syndrome consist of an unusually little head (microcephaly); varying degrees of mental deficiency; and/or uncommon particular face attributes including “beak-like” protrusion of the nose.
